Here is another...

peek at what is going on in the new catalog. This could truly be my new favorite stamp set. Notice that I used the exact same layout as the one a couple of posts down for stamp club. Its a simple, easy design, so why not use it?!? I cant really get enough of this top note die. It's so versatile and easy, when you can run multiple sheets of paper or cardstock through the Big Shot.




Now do you notice that my ribbon is sorta "wrinkly"? Well let me tell ya something. This is what happens when one tries to dry it with the heat tool...lol. I used the white ribbon and drug it through the new "in color" Crushed Curry. Of course I wanted the instant gratification, so I attempted to dry it. Well, I think it might work, but dont get your heat tool too close to the ribbon or it will curl and almost sorta melt. I like the effect on this card, but I wouldn't want it on everything. Hmm...could something like this be a swap card? I'll have to think about it. In fact, since it's 3:25 a.m. where I live...I believe I'll be thinkin about it while I sleep. Let me show you a little piece of gorgeousness that is new catalog.

Now, if you've ver been to my house, you KNOW that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE pheasants. You can imagine my joy when I found this stamp set. Can I get a high pitched WHAAAAAAAAAA here please...lol. And how about those rubons...easy peasy, mac n cheesy. Speaking of cheesy...I better get back on track here. This stamp set is called Autumn Days, and the rubons are Autumn Harvest. I really scored big here since Autumn, or Fall as I prefer, is my favorite season of all. And that reminds me of a story...Here we go. A friend of Anessa's was here and we were discussing how cold it was, and that we didn't like it. I told the girls that dads favorite season was Spring because he likes to see all the green come on. I told them mine was Fall...and I asked Kendra what her favorite was. Her answer........PAPRIKA!! LOL. I almost fell off the couch! Ok, anyhow, this is the new "In color" Soft Suede. I totally see this being a color option for Christmas.

This is Where

you keep your finest jewelry! I know some of you have seen this before, but here is my creation. It's made with the Match box die and the Big Shot. Honestly...it's VERY simple. I made 3 matchboxes and adhered them together, wrapped them with a strip of designer series paper, and thats it! Oh yeah, there are the drawer pulls...which are rhinestone brads and a button.
Dont ya think it's cute?! I hope ya do, since it's what we're making at Stamp club tonight. At least now you know whether to show up or not...hehe! I made another one of these and wrapped a wide ribbon around and tied it at the top. It was cute too, but there was really no reason to have the bow, so I didn't use it on this one.



Here is a side view of it. Pretty cute huh?



Here is the other project. I love the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set, and it's now going away forever! I'll miss it! I'm just trying to use up some of the current "in colors" so this one is Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red, but I can see this layout in TONS of color combos. I'm gonna miss that Kiwi Kiss ribbon, too...it's TO DIE FOR!!

First, let me explain

that I was really just trying out the "faux suede" technique with making tape, when this lovely design came to mind. I wanted to make a bikini for my husbands fathers day card. No, I"m not a pervert or anything like that, but lets face it folks...I dont look NOTHIN like this in a bikini! I just thought I'd give him a little eye candy. Hey, it beats lookin on the street...right?!



Now, when you have the card unfolded, it looks like a giant dog bone. I just used masking tape, torn into tiny pieces and covered the area of the bra and the panties. I inked those up real good to make them look sorta camoflaugeish, and stuck them in the appropriate positions on my card.



Notice on the ribbon on the bra line...that is just a piece of double stitched chocolate chip ribbon that I pulled the white stitching from and just kinda frayed it.

I think it's pretty cute...and I think hubby will too. I promise I'll keep it less risque in the future, but this was just too cute not to show.

On a side note, I received a partial order tonight, with the NEW CATALOG! Just wait till you see this glorious piece of publishing! It's HOT!..Sorta like my binkini! (wink).

Well Hmmmm...

Hi Stampers,
Yes, I know I'm the worst blogger ever! I could list the many reasons why, such as I've been busy, I've lost my mojo, I've had to change computers and this one isn't working properly...etc, but instead, I'll spare you. :)

Since I've lost my mojo, at least temporarily, I dont have a card to show you. What I do have however, are the new In Colors that will be available when the new catalog debuts on July 1. A Watercolor Attempt

Hi Stampers,

My good friend and stamp club member, Bethany, tragically lost her younger brother over the weekend, so I needed yet another sympathy card.

While blog hopping, which I do ALOT, I saw a card with this watercolor technique at Patty Bennett's blog. As soon as you're finished here, head on over there and watch her video of how to do this. http://www.pattystamps.com . I basically followed the same instructions, but instead I stamped my images in versamark and heat embossed with sterling silver e.p. I found that with the striped cardstock from the Taste of Textiles pack really picked up the silver embossed image better than by embossing in white. Anyway, after I embossed the roses, and watercolored them in, I call all three of them out. Yes, (K!) (I dont know why I keep her name secret, everybody already knows who I'm talking about :0) I know what you're thinking, you dont like to cut things out...but trust me, it's not hard at all, and besides all you have to do is follow around the already embossed areas. I just layered the roses on the striped paper with dimensionals and adhered it to the 5 1/4" square piece of Pink Pirouette textured cardstock. Notice that I used the AWESOME new Eyelet Border punch. Dontcha just love it?!! I do!! And while I know that I cant take away the pain of a loved one, I hope this card will let Bethany know how much I really care about her, and may somehow ease her pain.

8th grade dance and Anessa's project.

Hi Stampers!

Today I have a couple pictures of my very fast growing up 8th grader! Last night marked her 8th grade dance and WOW...does she clean up nice! Our friend, Tami, came over to do her hair. I absolutely dont have the patience for all those curls in the back. I know you cant see them, but trust me, they are there! I dont think I was looking forward to the day that my baby went to "prom", but this is the beginning of things to come. Ahh...isn't she beautiful!!

Here she is with her BFF Amanda. Amanda moved her in 4th grade, and they've been nearly inseperable since then. At times, Amanda has practically lived with us...but thats ok, she's a great girl as well.

Speaking of Amanda, here is a covered notebook that Anessa made for her. She used the Always DSP to cover it. I made Anessa one a while back, and she enjoys it so much she wanted one for Amanda. Now let me tell you, covering the notebook was easy, but do you notice the glitter? Dont try this at home folks! I didn't have any A's in the sticky cut letters, so I took a piece of chipboard and covered it with sticky strip. THAT is the easy part. The hard part is trimming it to make it fit the size of the letter. Oh my! It's not for the faint of heart...LOL. I did the same thing for the scallop, but it's size made it much easier to trim down. Anyhow, after getting them covered with sticky strip, she covered them with the chunky glitter. Whalaa. Not terribly difficult, (except the sticky strip part) and Amanda loved it! Mission Accomplished!

Happy Easter!!

Hi Stampers,

I cant believe I did it...After all, it's only been HOW long since I've stamped or made anything? Well, this is the basket I made for Anessa for Easter. I know there are others floating around out there, but this one is mine! I used my Big Shot and the Scalloped envelope die to make it. It took six envelopes and a handle. How easy! The only part I had any trouble with was making it keep it's form of a sextagon?, septagon? Which is it? Whatever, it's got 6 sides...LOL. After I adhered it all together, I traced around the outside and cut out a bottom for it. I cut just inside my lines, so it owuld fit on the inside and make it look all pretty and finished. I also LOVE that new edge punch. Pretty cute aint it! I love the always paper too....pink, orange...yummo!

Now I KNOW you want to know, but she's also getting a #88 towel. We LOVE Dale Earnhardt Jr. in this house, and are always looking for little, inexpensive things that show our support. Now, Ness can show her support while tanning at the pool this summer with her new towel.

Speaking of bottoms, (lol)...this is probably not the best time to be blogging, as I'm under the influence of my pain medicine, but I wanted to get something posted. After all, it's been a couple weeks at least!

Lookie what I got!

I dont have a card today, but more are coming soon...I promise. Today I want to show you how cool my husband is.
Look what I got! Monday was my 18th Anniversary, and my wonderful husband sent me these BEAUTIFUL roses! I cant believe how gorgeous they still are. I got them Monday, and took these photos on Thursday night. I cant believe they are still alive! How cool is that!?! Aren't they beauties?

Just for some added fun...for those of you that dont know him...Meet Philip! This has been the gorgeous man in my life for around 19 years. I Love You, Honey, and Thanks for the roses. You're the greatest!

I promise I'll post cards another day, but for today, I just wanted to show you what I got.

I Bleached It!

Hi Stampers,

For todays card, I wanted to show you how you can use regular household bleach, (even fresh flowers scent...lol) on your stamps. Of course, I also wanted to show you how terrible it looks when you continually have "afterthoughts" and screw up a perfectly good piece of cardstock because your aquapainter with red ink on it touches your cardstock...LOL.
Ok, on to the bleach.
I made a "bleach ink pad" by using a few paper towels in a paper plate, and adding enough bleach to make them kinda mushy. Not SUPER wet, but wet enough to get it on your stamp. Just stamp your stamp into the bleach pad just like you would a regular ink pad. Stamp it onto the paper, and the color starts to fade almost immediately. I tried this on several colors of cardstock, but for whatever reason, I decided to use the red one. I'm kinda a matchy type person, and since the blue paper went sorta yellowish and I didn't have something to match it I didnt use it. Same with another color blue...It's just the way I am...I cant help it. So, long story short, I went with the red. I also used the same stamp, and stamped it directly onto the naturals ivory cardstock. Can you see it at the bottom? You probably could see it better if THAT BIG ROUND SHADOW wasn't in the view. UGH! Anyhow, look closely. It's just subtle enough that it's there, but without a HUGE statement. I used the same stamp and bleached the red, and just punched them out with a 1 inch square punch. I layered them on a piece of Kiwi Kiss, then on to a piece of red that was punched with the scalloped square punch. Tada! Oh yeah, now for the afterthought part...I decided it would be cool to have some red speckles on the cardstock, just to give it something. Yep, it definately gave it something...mainly a big blob at the top right corner...as if you didn't already notice. If you look closely though, you can sorta see little red sprinkles all over. THAT was my plan, but as it is, if you turn your head to answer the phone, your aquapainter might just touch the cardstock and leave a mark...LOL. I prolly would never send this, now that it's totally trashed, but I'm thinking of a way to cover it up and make it work for my card. Let me know if you have any brilliant ideas and I'll post them here. In fact, lets make that the next challenge...How to fix a screw up!

A Birthday Wish

Hi Stampers,

I finally stamped again! This is my new favorite stamp set...mostly because I LOVE this tree! I also love that it comes in Decor Elements. This card is pretty self explanatory, but notice that I crimped the Old Olive cardstock in the back. I also left a little bit bigger matte around the edges than I usually do. I used the Old Olive and Close to Cocoa markers to ink up the stamp, then just stamped it on some white cardstock. Pretty simple...huh?
Notice that there is also the strip of designer series paper at the bottom. That I tell you was an afterthought. It's only there because in my pathetic attempt at paper piercing, I ended up going sideways. How does that happen? I dont know, but since it looked like I'd been seriously drinking, and I hadn't...I added the strip of DSP. I cut it 2 1/2" so that I could fold it in the middle and cover up the back side of the uneven punches as well.

Because I needed to cover those pesky little holes, I also needed to do something to the inside of this card. It probably needed it anyway, since it's Close to Cocoa, and kinda dark to write on. I just took a piece of white carstock, stamped the other image from the same stamp set, added the sentiment...and Done! No, I haven't figured out why there is a round shadow at the bottom of EVERY SINGLE PHOTO I take. If someone out there in blogworld has any clues...please let me know. It's driving me crazy!

This card was a great "pick me up" when I'm working MUCH more than I care to. I haven't had much time to stamp, so I greatly enjoy seeing what other people have done...and this card is no exception...Thanks, Kathy! This is the crimped envelope technique. She cut an end off of a sealed envelope and crimped the largest part. You can see in the next photo that once you cut the end off, you create a pocket, or an envelope to include your message. Then the piece cut off fits right back over to close it back up. How cool is that!! It's kinda like a cardelope...LOL. It's an envelope made into a card, made back into an envelope...Thanks Again!

FINALLY...Another Post

Hi Stampers,

Yes, it's been a while since I've been here. I guess that's what tax season and working at H&R Block have in common. :( It takes away from my "fun time". Anyway, I'm back for today and I have a cute project to share.

I had a big fat birthday this year, and guess what I got....??? Give up?? I got a new CRICUT!!! Look at this adorable banner I made for my neice's birthday...I used the to die for Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper to make the pennants, and I used the Cricut to cut out the letters from Pink Pirouette textured cardstock. TADA! I Love it! Katie liked it too, so thats a plus. Because it's tax season, I haven't had the time to play with it as much as I'd of liked, but April 15th will be here soon...I hope!

On another note...this photo is of the darling cat...Princess..er, uh, Prince Charming, as we found out after a trip to the vet for spaying. LOL. While I adore Prince Charming, I dont adore my carpet as much...Check this out...Can you even see the cat? He blends in perfectly with this ugly kitchen carpet. I figured out just how much he blended when I nearly stepped on him one day, and suddenly found myself very close to a disaster!
