Be Mine

Hi Stampers,

This is the other project from stamp club that I promised to show you. I used the pillow box die and my Big Shot to create this too cool candy holder for valentines day. The paper is from the LOVE YOU MUCH promotion Stampin' Up! is offering.

I simply rolled my die through the big shot and used the awesome three heart punch to punch the windows on one side. I took a small piece of acetate and taped on the inside of the pillow box to keep all the goodies inside. I used one of the hearts that was punched out and adhered it to the "friend to friend" which was punched with the word window punch. I took a piece of Riding Hood Red ribbon and tied a knot at one end. I used the linen thread to attach the word window to the riding hood red ribbon. Thats it...but dont forget to add your candy. I used conversation hearts, but you could certainly use M&M's or something else if you'd like. I think I'm going to make about a dozen of these for my co-workers. I think it will brighten their day.

I hope you all have a Great day too! Now Go Stamp Something!!

Stamp Club 2009 and a Challenge!

Hi Stampers,

This is one of the projects we'll be making at Stamp Club on Monday. I just got some new rubbah, and haven't played with it very much. This card went together in about 5 minutes, and most of that was cutting out the heart. The card is 4"X4" square. The designer series paper is from the Raspberry Tart collection, and is 2"X4". I stamped the heart with versamark and embossed it with silver embossing powder. You probably cant see it in the photo, but I used my versamarker to outline the heart and dab in the circles and flowers. Versamark is my friend!@! I use it much more than I ever thought I would. Then I just tied some white ribbon around the middle. I used the word window punch to punch out at the bottom right hand corner of the card, and embossed the friend to friend in silver. I couldn't get a good picture of that either, but just try to imagine it. I cant say that this card just totally WOWED me, but it's not the worst I've done either...lol. It's very simple, and would be easily reproduced to make a bunch for a kids valentine party or whatever.

Stay tuned for another project from stamp club later this week.

NOW FOR A CHALLENGE!!!

I challenge each of you to create at least ONE Valentines day card using a "non traditional" color. It doesn't even have to use a heart, but there will be bonus points for that... :) I might even find a gift around here for the winner. All you have to do is either upload your card to your blog, and come back here to post a link in the comments section, or email me a picture of your card so I can post it here. The deadline is February 7. You can make as many as you want...you'll increase your chances of winning! Now Go Stamp Something!!

Thank You's for Heather

Hi Stampers,

These are some of the Thank You cards I made for one of my uplines, Heather. If you dont know, her mother passed away very unexpectly last week and is now in need of a serious amount of Thank You notes. Here is mine.

These are very fast, and very easy to reproduce in multiples. On the pink one, I stamped the flourish from Baroque Motif in Pink Pirouette twice onto Whisper White cardstock. Then I embossed the NEW!! Elegant Thank You, (which is is the new catalog) with silver embossing powder. I used the square scallop punch and punched it out, stuck it on with two dimensionals and...Done!

For the other card, I did the same thing, except I used Naturals Ivory cardstock and creamy caramel craft ink. Classic ink would have worked, but I didn't have it in this color. Then I embossed the Thank You with Gold embossing powder.

Some of the cards are embossed directly on the cardstock, instead of punched out. I like them all the same, but big daddy likes the ones that I punched out better. Oh well, he's not a stamper anyway, so what does he know!?!

So, which one do you like better? Leave me a comment to let me know!

Thats it for today...Now Go Stamp Something!

Just A Note

Hi Stampers,

I just wanted to share these note cards with you today.

This as simple as it gets, but is very pretty. I simply took a piece of 8 1/2 X 11 cardstock and cut it in half. I wanted my notes to fit a standard A2 envelope when folded in half. I layered a piece of whisper white cardstock on top of the bottom color and stamped the big flourish from Baroque Motifs. (LOVE that stamp set)! I used markers to color in only one letter (the letter B for "Beth") of the Defining Alphabet and stamped it on a piece of white cardstock. I punched it out with my circle punch and stamped over it with the flourish again. I layered it onto a scallop circle of coordinating cardstock. I used a piece of Designer Series Paper to layer across the top and WALA!? Is that right? Wala?
Anyhow...these will be used when I just want to send a quick note to a friend or whatever. It's easy enough that you could make them for your grocery store and walmart list, yet it's pretty enough to send to the pope! LOL. It's personalized stationary. Of course you could go into much more detail, and get alot more exotic, but I wanted something simple, yet very pretty and personal.
Thanks for stopping by today. I've got to work on some "thank you" cards, so I'll have something more to share later. Now, Go Stamp Something!

Inspired by Sympathy

Hi Stampers,

This is the second of the two Sympathy cards I made a couple days ago. I absolutely love this stamp set, Inspired by Nature. The sentiment comes from the Close As A Memory stamp set. I used the in color, Tangerine Tango for a card base, and just a strip of Chocolate Chip down the left hand side. I used the Stampin' Write markers to color the image directly on the stamp set. I used, pumpkin pie, chocolate chip and old olive. While the pumpkin pie and tangerine tango aren't a perfect match, they work ok here because there is a neutral color between them. I just added three brads to the photo corner punch and there ya have it. All together, this card took maybe 10 minutes.

I dont know if you can see it in the photo, but on the brown part of the flowers, I sorta dotted my stamp after coloring it in. I thought it might give it almost a life-like appearance. In real life you can see it better, and I like the effect.
Remember, Tuesday is the last day for BLOG CANDY! Scroll down to see the post about it.
Have a Great evening, stampers.

Close As A Memory

Hi Stampers,

Ok, I was reading the comments for the BLOG CANDY!! and noticed that you want ideas for Sympathy cards. Well, it just so happens that I need TWO sympathy cards today. GEESH!

Talk about ask, and you shall receive...Mercy!

I actually stamped quite a bit today. Anessa was gone and Philip was napping on the couch. AHHH...Bliss!! The sound of silence! LOL. Well, not really SILENCE...it was only silence between the ZZZZZ's that Philip was putting out, but it was close enough for me. I made two sympathy cards, two note cards, and a milk crate with four milk cartons. That gives me something to show you later on. I'll post one today, and the other one another day.

Dont ya just LOVE it?!! This card uses the Close As A Memory stamp set. I used Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip cardstock. I absolutely LOVE this color combination. Half of my Christmas cards were made with this. This is the "cracked glass" technique. I dont know if you can see the cracked glass in the photo or not, but it's a really fun technique that adds quite a bit of interest to the card. You just stamp your image as usual, then cover the whole thing with versamark. Pour on a layer of Stampin' Up! Glassy Glaze Enamel embossing powder and heat emboss. Repeat this step about three times and stick your project in the freezer for about 5 minutes. When you remove it from the freezer, you can just bend the cardstock and the cracks will appear. You can bend as much or as little as you like. You could even take a sponge and sponge some ink into the cracks. Use a paper towel to remove the excess and it really antiques the image alot. Maybe I will show you a step by step tutorial the next time I make one.
Only 3 more days to BLOG CANDY! Scroll down to the BLOG CANDY heading to see all the details!

BLOG CANDY!!!

Ok Stampers...This is the moment you've been waiting for!

It's time for BLOG CANDY!! For new readers...Blog Candy is just a little something to thank you for visiting my blog and showing interest in what I do. This is the first blog candy I've given, and hope to give much more based on hitting a milestone, (like having so many hits on my blog) or hitting a desired number of comments...or maybe just if I feel exceptionally generous.

Since it's time for a celebration...I have reached 100 hits, AND it's a brand new year, I'm giving away a New, Unmounted stamp set called "Celebrate Everything". All you have to do is leave a comment on THIS POST telling me what you would like to see featured on my blog. It might be cards, scrapbook pages, tutorials, recipes, or whatever else you can come up with.

You have until Tuesday, January 6 at 5:00 to leave your comment. Each comment will receive a number. I'll have random.org generate a number and the comment that number matches up to will win. Good Luck!

~Beth

Make sure you post your name with your comment if you are annonymous. I wont know who the winner is without a name.
